POSITION SUMMARY

Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the storage and inventory rotation of frozen seafood products. The employee in this position performs a variety of duties including receiving frozen inventory, inventory control and rotation of frozen products, labeling and weighing of products, preparing inventory reports, pulling orders, and maintaining a clean and organized working area. This position also plays a critical and essential role in providing its customers with the best delivery service possible. Under minimal supervision, drivers are accountable for maintaining a high level of product quality, on-time efficient delivery service and outstanding customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Checks hand held scanner or hard copy of freezer product orders and pulls orders. Scans the order entry and marks boxes or packages with customer name, number of pieces or pounds and place on racks in chilling room if not labeled already.
2. Inspect and verify all incoming frozen goods against invoices and other documents. Check for quality before acceptance and report any shortages or damaged goods to supervisor.
3. Practices proper receiving techniques and maintain a high level of freight integrity. Proper inventory rotation; FIFO – Fist In, first out
4. Checks to see that certain items are vacuum packed and labeled with the proper weight.
5. Attaches freezer labels to all products such as ID numbers, Lot numbers, case weight, piece weight and case number. Scan the bar code.
6. Follow all Safety and House rules and guidelines.
7. Complete all logs and forms completely and accurately as directed.
8. Cleans the inside and outside of freezer. Inside-pick up rubbish, takeout empty boxes, sweep, and arrange the stock. Outside the freezer- sweep and mop the floor, wipe counters and racks with disinfectant cleaners. Loads the truck. Count the boxes of fish and match that number with the airway bill.
9. Delivers products in a safe and timely manner to meet shipping cut-off time schedules.

10. Pick up incoming products and put products in designated areas in the warehouse.

11. Receives products from various places and follows proper receiving procedures.

12. Returns and picks up containers as needed.

13. Abides by the traffic laws and practices safe driving and lifting techniques.

14. Completes basic reports, such as the Driver’s Inspection Report, the mileage and delivery logs.

15. Perform all other tasks and duties as directed by the General Manager.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

1. Wipes and cleans counters with disinfectant
2. Completes the Electric Lift Operator Check-off list daily before operating the Electric Lift.
3. Maintains the Electric Lift by charging the battery daily and filling the battery with distilled water as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Valid driver’s license and Abstract of Traffic Record with no major traffic violations like speeding over 20 MPH past the speed limit, DUI, or disregarding the Red Light.
2. Six months to one-year work experience in cold storage and/or inventory control preferred.
3. Ability to read and write at the 12^th grade level, write basic reports, and compute basic math problems.
4. Must lift at least 75 pounds.
5. Computer skills required in PC.
6. TB Clearance.

INTERPERSONAL INTERACTION

This position reports directly to the General Manager. On a daily basis, the person in this position will interact with employees from various departments within the company. Ability to effectively communicate with employees is an essential part of this position.
